Access Ramp and Decking, Kent


A major provider of residential care and supported homes to older people across the UK.

Currently they have over 700 houses and 80 care homes across the UK, and are adding to these numbers by constantly developing new facilities. A not-for-profit organisation dedicated to making the lives of older people easier and more fulfilling.

Helping people to live independently by providing a range of services, all of which are linked to the local community.

They are a registered charity and housing association providing residential care and supported sheltered housing to over 450 older people across Kent alone.

Their highly trained and dedicated team provides specialist care for:

  • older people who are frail
  • older people and younger people (40 years - 65 years) with dementia
  • older people with Parkinson’s

Care is at the heart of the Society and they are committed to providing exceptional standards of care to vulnerable older people. Their priority for residents is to provide security and comfort within an environment which promotes companionship.

This project was designed and constructed to Part M of the Building Regulations, with flush door thresholds and a disabled access ramp for wheelchair use. On the far side one of the trellis screens is hinged to allow access for storage beneath the deck.
